Organise One Event

100 million Christians are persecuted everyday just for following Jesus. Many of their stories are "passed over" or even ignored, however we at Underground - the Youth division of Open Doors have been running a campaign called Walk In Their Shoes, persuading thousands of youth to not ignore the persecuted church, to take an initiative and get involved. We are selling BRIGHT green laces with "Walk in their shoes" printed on them. The laces are $5 a pair and we hope to raise $50,000 for persecuted Christians in North Sudan. With the money raised, we will support 300 young students to go to Bible college.

"It's not easy being green"

Southern Christian College in Tasmania created an event, "It's not easy being green" on the 28th of May, to raise awareness about the Persecuted Church.

They communicated the needs of the Persecuted Church to a broad audience, ranging from 4 years of age up to Grade 10 students. There were also some parents on the day, some of which would have been unfamiliar with the needs of these Christians.

The school hall was a sea of green, green hair, shoelaces and clothing. Students were assembled on the floor in groups assisted by their teachers and student prayer group leaders.

On large green sheets they wrote down what they thought the best things about being a Christian were, as well as the worst things. They also brainstormed what we could continue to do to help those who were being persecuted..

Gareth Park, the teacher who co-ordinated the event was proud to inform us that the school raised $539.69 for the "Walk in their shoes" campaign.

Thanks Southern Christian College for your support!
